Install Twrp on your Zenfone laser 550kl without unlocking bootloader

There are many users of zenfone laser out there who are unable to unlock the bootloader even  using the ASUS official bootloader unlocker .This guide is for them .the best thing is you can install twrp and then flash any custom roms as you like without unlocking your bootloader anymore.Do at your own risk.

Requirements:

1.You must be on latest Marshmallow build for zenfone laser 550kl

  that is the Version WW-21.40.1220.1877   .check you phone's settings/about section

  if you are not the latest build you can download it by clicking the above version name

2.you need a computer and the Adb tools must be installed

         *Download ADB FASTBOOT TOOL

3.Download twrp recovery for ZOOL

          *Download Twrp recovery (For zenfone laser 550kl 720p)

Procedure

1.open command prompt from the ADB directory via Shift+right click  and selecting 'open cmd from here 

(keep it open)

2.Then put the twrp.img in the adb folder

3.Maximize the command window 

4.Then put your phone to Fastboot mode .then connect your phone to PC via USB

5.In the command promt type 

      fastboot devices        (this will show your device ID)

    

     fastboot flash recovery twrp.img      (twrp.img is the file name)

   

    this will flash the recovery succesfully 

    

Now you can remove your phone from pc by leaving it in the fastboot mode

6.Then in the fastboot mode

          press the vol down button(first ) by holding it press the power button ( VOL DOWN+ POWER BUTTON)

wait few seconds

7.Boom your phone is now boot up to Twrp recovery :)

install the custom roms you like in your zenfone laser without unlocking the bootloader


i recommend you to don't do asus  otas after doing this process when u get back to stock for any reason.this post is made only because the official unlocker is not working

How to get VoLte in zenfone laser 550kl in cynogenmod and asus stock firmware

First of all you need to download some required files to get Volte in your zenfone laser550kl

currently i made the patch for both 3GB and 2GB variant and tested on cynogenmod,asus stock firmware. Do at your own risk

Update: volte also works on resurrection remix 5.7.2 for zool

For  twrp recovery users

*   update zip for VoLte  VoLte patch zip(for 550kl 2GB variant)

*   update zip for VoLte VoLte patch(for 550kl  3GB variant)

For Stock recovery users

1.Download adb fastboot tool  Adb fastboot tool

2.Download the Volte patch   VoLte patch image file(550KL 2GB)

                                               volte 3gb patch.img(550KL 3GB)

3.Need a pc

1.First of all you need to install the adb fastboot tool .  copy the the downloaded patched file to the installed directory of adb tools  like this in the photo

2.With in the folder press right click and Lshift  button on the same time select the option in the photo

3.you will get a command window like this  

         

4.Now in the phone enable USB debugging in developer tools 

then shut down your zenfone laser, enter fastboot mode by pressing the Power button and 

volume up button at the same time

5.Connect your phone to the pc using a usb  

6. write the command      fastboot devices

           it will show your devices serial number  FAZXXXXX  like this( if it did not show your devices serial number it means your are not connected your phone to the pc in a right way.this cause due to the absence of drivers. You can install asus pc link to get the drivers cause the setup of asus pclink contain all the drivers for our zenfone.

7.Then write the command  fastboot flash modem volte.img

8.Then reboot your phone using the command fastboot reboot

9.After your phone boot up go to sim card settings in your cynogenmod  

prefer jio4g sim for calling ,data  and messaging

10. Then go to your jio4g sim sim settings. mine is sim1 settings

enable enhanced 4g lte mode

hurrayy... now we can call and message via VoLte in our zenfone laser 550kl .

Unfornately the volte sign wont show in the status bar  .currently this patch file only work on zenfone laser 550kl 2gb variant which comes with snapdragon 410  .i will make the patch for zenfone laser 3gb variant soon 

Note: if u got volte not working after a reboot just disable enhanced 4g lte and enable it. Will fix the issue
